35 industries paid 238.7 million dedicated and trunk line tariff arrears
Kathmandu. 25 new industries which consumed electricity from dedicated and trunk line structures during load shedding in the past have paid the first installment of premium tariff arrears. Earlier, 10 industries which started paying dues and did not continue to do so, have continued to pay in installments. Thus, the Nepal Electricity Authority has recovered 238.7 million 72 thousand rupees from 35 industries.
The total arrears of 35 industries was 5 billion 94 crore 56 lakh rupees. Now 5 billion 70 crore 68 lakh rupees is due to be recovered. This arrears is the premium tariff arrears for consumption of electricity from dedicated and trunk lines from January 2072 to April 2075. Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kulman Ghising thanked the industrialists for starting to pay the outstanding amount by remembering the responsibility towards the state. Minister Ghising expressed his belief that after starting to pay installments of arrears from the industrialists, it will continue.
