Kathmandu. In the 11th Congress of the CPN-UML, 3 well-known leaders along with office-bearers were defeated as central members in the 11th Congress of the CPN-UML. Surendra Pandey, who contested for the post of General Secretary, was defeated. He could not even be elected as a central member. Pandey was defeated by Shankar Pokharel for the general secretaryship.
Vice President cndidate Guru Baral and Deputy General Secretary candidate Vishnu Rimal have also been defeated for the post of central members. Baral, who will be defeated for the position of vice-president, is the only member of President KP Oli's panel. In the result of central member's vote, Baral got 754 votes and Rimal got 630 votes.
This time there are 8 new faces in the official team. Raghuji Pant and seven secretaries (Bhanubhakt Dhakal, Khagraj Adhikari, Yamlal Kandel, Rajan Bhattarai, Sherdhan Rai, Hikmat Karki and Mahesh Basnet) have joined the team for the first time.
