3 billion 55 crores damage to agriculture and livestock sector across the country due to rain

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has said that due to the heavy rains that occurred last October, there was a loss of 3.55 billion in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry across the country. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has collected the details of damage caused to agricultural crops, livestock, infrastructure and seeds due to heavy rains. The agriculture offices in all the provinces under the ministry have collected the damage data with the coordination and support of the relevant local levels. 

Information officer Mahanand Joshi informed that the ministry will coordinate with the National Disaster Authority to provide support, facilities, insurance facilitation and relief to the flood-affected farmers based on the statistics collected by the ministry. According to him, the ministry has formed a working group to further analyze the damage.  Information Officer Joshi said that due to the damage done to the paddy crop by the rains, all the paddy kept in the field has rotted due to the rain. According to him, due to not being able to pick up the cut rice, there is a huge loss, so support and facilities will be provided to the concerned farmers as needed.
