Main News Image

Kathmandu. Two positions in the National Assembly are still vacant. One post has to be nominated by the President on the recommendation of the government, while the other post has become vacant after the death of Baldev Bohra, a member elected from Far West.

Although the then government recommended the name of Home Minister Omprakash Aryal for the nominated member, the President's Office has kept the recommendation on hold until now. On the other hand, the Election Commission has not announced the schedule yet, even though the election should be held for the vacant post after the death of Baldev Bohra. According to the law, the election has to be completed within 35 days after the member position becomes vacant, but the commission has not yet proceeded with the election process.
