143 parties registered in Election Commission, 25 new parties were added

Kathmandu. The number of parties to be registered with the Election Commission has reached 143. For the House of Representatives elections announced for the upcoming February 21st, the Election Commission had initially set aside the time to apply for party registration from November 1st to 10th. Then the commission extended the time by four days. The added time also ended on Sunday. During this period, 25 new parties have been registered in the commission.

Along with the newly registered 25, 119 parties have been registered with the Commission this time. The number of new and old parties registered with the Election Commission has reached 143. Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed that although 120 parties applied for party registration, 119 parties were registered. The commission said that the final list of registered parties will be published on 20th of December after the investigation of the application.
