On the occasion of 100 days of the formation of the current government, in a press conference organized by the spokesperson of the government and minister of education and sports, Sasmit Pokharel, he informed that in the past years, sugarcane farmers had to wait for six to eight months for payment, but this year, effective arrangements have been made to provide funds within the financial year.
He said that about Rs.1 billion and 52 crore subsidy given by the government at the rate of Rs.70 per quintal has been disbursed to the relevant agencies and will be deposited in the farmer's account by June 25. It is mentioned in the 100-day achievement statement released by the government that arrangements have been made for immediate payment of some farmers who have been stopped due to lack of technical details such as bank account and PAN.
