All Political Appointments Now Revoked
Kathmandu: The way has been opened for the wholesale revocation of political appointments in 110 government-owned institutions, including development committees, boards, academies, and departments under various ministries. With President Ramchandra Paudel issuing the Special Ordinance on the Removal of Public Officeholders, 2083, on Saturday, the path has been cleared for the cancellation of political appointments.
The ordinance includes a provision to revoke all appointments made before Chaitra 12, 2082, at once in institutions under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; the Ministry of Health and Population; the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development; the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies; and the Ministry of Forests and Environment.
