Most of the commercial banks have reduced the interest rate for the month of February, how much?

Kathmandu. Commercial banks have announced the new interest rates applicable for the month of February. According to the information published by the banks, most of them have reduced the interest rates. It seems that the maximum average interest rate of banks has decreased in the month of February towards personal term deposits. This interest rate, which was 4.68 percentage points in January, decreased by 0.11 percentage points to 4.56 percentage points in February.

Similarly, the interest rate of institutional term deposits has also come down. The maximum average interest rate in this regard has decreased by 0.05 percentage points. In the month of February, 9 commercial banks have reduced the maximum interest rate of personal term deposits. Out of which Global IME Bank has reduced the most by 0.75 percentage points. The bank's maximum interest rate on personal fixed deposits, which was 5.5 percent in January, has come down to 4.75 percent in February. 

11 banks have continued the rate of the month of January in the maximum interest rate for such a period.

Nepal Bank is going to give the highest interest on personal term deposits in the month of February. This bank is going to give interest at the maximum rate of 5.1 percent. Similarly, the lowest interest rates are from Standard Chartered, Krishi Bikas Bank, Prime Commercial, Nepal SBI, Everest and Siddharth Bank. These banks will give interest at the maximum rate of 4.25 percent.
