Youth from Tanahun missing in Portugal, request of the family to search
Kathmandu. A Nepali youth who came to Portugal for foreign employment has gone missing. 34-year-old Jitendra Pandey, who lives in Pipalpani, Tanahun, Bhanu Municipality-9, and has been living in Portugal for the past two years, has gone missing. Pandey's friend Vidur Tamang informed that he has been missing from Sintra area near the capital Lisbon since Monday last week. Last Sunday night, Pandey, who came from Tamang, went to his house because he received a call from his friend. Tamang said Pandey has been out of touch since then.
Pandey, who asked his co-worker to take food for him, was searched after he did not go to work on Monday. "After Pandey lost contact, we contacted his family in Nepal, from there we received news that Pandey called his relatives in the morning and said that he will not be in contact for a few days, now he is not in contact with anyone," said Tamang. He said that the local police was informed on Tuesday through the employer to search for Pandey.
Pandey's residence card, bank card and passport along with all the belongings of the missing Pandey were found in his room. Pandey has elderly parents and sisters in Nepal. Nepali Ambassador to Portugal Prakashmani Paudel informed that as soon as the news of Pandey's disappearance was received by the embassy, the local police administration was immediately informed to search for him. Ambassador Paudel said that the embassy is doing its best to search for him. Pandey, who came to Portugal two years ago via Croatia, was working in a packing company in Sintra.
