Young farmer's strawberry farming in Dang flourishing, business worth lakhs

Kathmandu. Due to agricultural technology and professional thinking, strawberry cultivation has started to flourish in Ghorahi area of Dang. Dasharath Saud, 27 years old from Kailali, has been doing business of lakhs from his strawberry farm on two bigha land in Ghorahi-15. Saud, who sold 21 lakh rupees last year, has started selling strawberries from November this year. Currently, more than 70 kg of strawberries are being sold at Rs 700 per kg. Birendra Khadka, another youth from Ghorahi-14, is also earning good income from commercial strawberry farming using drip irrigation and mulching techniques.
According to Krishi Gyan Kendra Dang, since the climate of the district is suitable for strawberry cultivation, its future is promising with the youth's activity.
