Crow Tihar festival, which is celebrated on the day of Kattik Krishna Trayodashi, is being celebrated this morning by giving sweet and sweet cheese seeds to crow as the messenger of Yamaraj.
Dr. Purushottam Bhattarai, Chairman of the Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee, informed that since Kaag Tihar should be celebrated on the day of Trayodashi Tithi during sunrise, it was decided to celebrate this festival on Saturday according to scriptures.
There is a classical belief that crows are regarded as Yamadoots because Yamaraj knows the news of the people through crows. On these days, it is done to make the crow happy by giving sweet food along with worship so that the crow will bring good news to Yamraj.
