Wild elephant menace in Udaipur, locals stay awake all night
Udaipur. A wild elephant has entered the village in Handia area of Chaudandigarhi municipality-10 of Udaipur and created a nuisance. Residents have complained that elephants enter the village daily at night and start destroying the food and crops stored in their homes.
According to local resident Shyam Narayan Chowdhury, the fence of the local Amrit Adhikari's house was damaged only last Saturday night. Similarly, elephants have also damaged the paddy kept in the beggar house of local Parshuram Huzdar. Huzdar said that the elephants enter in the middle of the night and eat the plants around the house and destroy the beggars and eat the rice.
According to Sitaram Chowdhury, a local resident, after the elephants started entering the village at night, some villagers had to stay awake all night to drive away the elephants. Locals say that elephants entered the village and started causing damage and nuisance with the cold.
