Kathmandu. It has been found that a food trader is involved in the illegal trade of food by claiming to be a member of the National People's Congress. Those traders who are willing to bring goods from outside the customs and sell them are engaged in 'seasonal' smuggling, assuming it is 'seasonal'. Vikash Lunia is a businessman who works in smuggling based in Biratnagar. A few months ago, he was smuggling wheat, but lately he has become active in smuggling sugar.
India has now stopped exporting sugar. As soon as India exports, the price of sugar has increased. Seizing the opportunity, he started importing sugar into Nepal from outside the customs. Even in business circles, he has been seen as a 'seasonal' smuggler. He used to bring wheat in the same modality when there was no production of wheat in Nepal. Now they are going to import sugar into Nepal. Predicting a decrease in sugarcane production this year, India has banned the export of all types of raw and processed sugar. At this time, sugar smuggling is increasing rapidly.
