What time is the best time for Vahitika this year?
Kathmandu. All over the country, the hustle and bustle of Tihar has arrived in the courtyards, while the lights are flickering and the songs of Tihar have started resounding in the houses. Crow Tihar is celebrated on the first day of Yama Panchak ie Tihar festival and Lakshmi Puja and Dog Tihar are being celebrated on the second day today. This morning, dog worship is celebrated by worshiping the symbol of Yamdoot and offering sweet food, while this evening preparations for Lakshmi Puja are being made at home.
In the evening, lamps are lit in every house to bring in Lakshmi. On this day, houses, shops and offices are cleaned and rangolis are made and decorated with garlands and lamps, and special worship of Lakshmi is done. Doing this is believed to increase wealth and prosperity in the house.
Similarly, Gai Puja and Gorupuja are being celebrated together on 5th October. Hindus have worshiped the cow as 'mother' since ancient times. On that day cows and bulls are worshiped with Tilak, garlands etc. and sweet food is offered. It is believed that after death one can reach heaven only by holding the cow's tail and crossing the river called Vaitarni.
The last day of Yamapanchak i.e. 6th of October is celebrating Bhaiti festival. On that day, sisters wish long life, prosperity and good luck to their brothers and wear septarangi tika and garlands on their foreheads.
The Nepal Panchang Judging Committee has said that this year, Bhaitika's Uttam Sahit is at 11:39 AM. The committee has said that even if there is no obstacle to tika at midday on Thursday, 6th of October, Dhanu Lagna, Kanya Navamansh, Char Bela and Abhijit Yoga and Vijay Muhurta are auspicious days for those looking for good times. The committee has informed that although there is no problem for common people to get vaccinated at midday, the state administrators should get vaccinated in the evening.
