Weather improving in eastern Nepal, risk of heavy rain in west till Sunday

Kathmandu. Although the weather is gradually improving towards the eastern part of Nepal, the influence of the weather system remains in the western parts of the country. According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces till Sunday.
Meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane informed that since the low pressure system around Uttar Pradesh of India is moving towards Nepal, the effect of rain is especially visible in the western areas. In the last 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains have been recorded in most places of those states.
According to the department, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in Bagmati and western parts of Madhesh province as well as Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and most places in the far west till Sunday afternoon. On the eastern side of Nepal, the weather is expected to gradually improve and some places will experience light to moderate rain.
