Water supply to Melamchi stopped
Kathmandu. The water supply to Kathmandu valley has been temporarily stopped from today after flooding in the Melamchi water supply project. According to Bir Bahadur Chand, the spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Limited KUKL, the supply of water flowing from Melamchi to the treatment center at Sundarijal has been temporarily stopped due to the turbidity of the water in Melamchi spring.
He said, "The water in the spring has become extremely cloudy due to the rain, after the improvement in quality, the re-treatment process will be conducted and water supply will be conducted according to the predetermined distribution schedule." If there is continuous rain, it will take some time to supply water to Kathmandu.
