Voting for the election of members of the House of Representatives today
Kathmandu. Voting is being held today as part of the election of members of the House of Representatives, which will be held under special circumstances after the Genji movement. Voting will be held in one phase from 7 am to 5 pm in all 77 districts of the country.
This is the third election of the House of Representatives after the country entered the Federal Democratic Republic. Earlier, elections were held in 2074 and 2079. Today, elections are being held for 165 direct constituencies and 110 proportional seats under the 'first-come, first-served election system'.
On the direct side, 65 political parties are competing in 61 election symbols. On the direct side, 3406 candidates including 3017 men, 388 women and one other are in the election contest. Similarly, 3,135 candidates, 1,363 men and 1,772 women, are competing for the proportional election system.
