mung bean In Khatyad rural municipality-9 Narkhaji village in the western region of Mugu, more than 400 local residents of the village have fallen ill due to viral fever that has been spreading for a few days.

Children, women and the elderly are mostly affected due to fever. According to local Khem Rokaya, the fever that started on February 7 has spread rapidly in four settlements of Narkhaji village.

There is a shortage of both manpower and medicine in the health institution in Narkhjim. Although a team with doctors from Ratapani Primary Health Center reached the village for treatment, the disease could not be brought under control. The treatment team has returned from the village on the 12th and now only one health worker is active in treating the patient.

According to Amar Bik, in-charge of Narkhji health post, more than 20 patients come for treatment every day. We have already informed the village council. Although the medicine was sent, it ran out due to the pressure of the patient. There is only 10 leaves of Citamol left at the health post and there is only one health worker including himself who has to do everything from patient registration to testing, so it is difficult to provide services on time, he said.

Doctor VikaDhital of Primary Health Center Ratapani has informed that he has reached the village and tested about 300 patients. Children to the elderly are affected due to fever. There seems to be a lack of medicine. He informed that 50 people have been vaccinated.
