Vacant Inspector General of Police Khapung banned from visiting foreign countries

Kathmandu. The commission formed to investigate the incident of 23rd and 24th of August has instructed the former Inspector General of Nepal Police IGP and other related officers to appear before the commission for the investigation of the incident. The meeting of the commission held today on Thursday decided to stop former IGP Chandrakuber Khapung from traveling abroad for the time being as it was necessary to attend the commission for the investigation of the then incident. Khapung retired from service today.

The Commission has said that it will correspond with the relevant authorities to make arrangements to prevent Khapung from going outside the Kathmandu Valley. The commission has requested all the concerned parties to provide the details of the damage caused by the incident to the address of the commission or to the office at Singha Darbar, if they are still pending.
According to Vigyanraj Sharma, member and spokesperson of the commission, the decisions and information of the commission can be seen on the website of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
