UML leader Bhattachan released from custody

Kathmandu. CPN-UML leader Devi Prakash Bhattachan, who was involved in financial embezzlement, has been released from custody. Bhattachan was released from prison after the court did not give him a deadline to keep him in prison. The court has released him from custody to investigate.

He was released from prison after the court ordered him to be investigated without being detained citing health reasons. Bhattachan, who is also the chairman of Prabhu Group, was arrested on October 11th from Lalitpur by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, CIB, on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the Kathmandu District Court.
