UML Congress: Voting today for leadership election
Kathmandu. The election process under the 11th Congress of CPN-UML is starting from 8 am today. Although voting was supposed to be held on Tuesday, it was postponed at the last moment after changing the time several times.
The election schedule was set for the last time to vote for leadership selection from 7 pm on Tuesday. However, the Election Commission of UML has said that the voting program has been postponed, indicating that the technical preparations have not been completed. According to the commission, the representatives have been requested to attend Bhrikutimandap this morning. The commission has informed that the electronic voting system will be used in the elections, while the voting will be done through the Ramalakshman voting machine.
Under the convention election, the current president KP Sharma Oli and senior vice president Ishwar Pokharel are in the election field as a panel. The Election Commission of the party published the final list after claims, protests, complaints and investigations regarding the candidates for various posts. According to which, there are two candidates for the president, 11 for the vice president, two for the general secretary, seven for the deputy general secretary, and 20 candidates for the secretary.
