Two Bangladeshis arrested with 31 lakh rupees at Kathmandu airport

Kathmandu. Two Bangladeshi nationals who were going to Malaysia from Tribhuvan International Airport were arrested with Nepali and foreign currency worth around 31 lakh 51 thousand rupees. According to the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, the money was recovered during the check of the passengers who were going from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia through Batik Air flight number OD-183 at 1 pm on Thursday.

Those arrested are 39-year-old Mohammad Intaz Ali and 50-year-old MD Zakir Hossain. The police said that they tried to hide the cash by making a false bottom inside the suitcase and found the money during the baggage screening and body search.

According to the police, one thousand US dollars and 20,000 Malaysian ringgits were recovered from Mohammad Intaz Ali and Rs.1 million and 25 thousand from MD Zakir Hossain. According to the Airport Security Office, the Nepalese value of all seized currency is 31 lakh 51 thousand rupees.
