Trump rejects Iran ceasefire offer

Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran's ceasefire proposal. According to the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Trump wants to resume airstrikes against Iran after the country's midterm elections. The report came as Iranian officials presented a proposal to the US to de-escalate tensions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Speaking to reporters at the United Nations headquarters on Friday, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the process of opening Hormuz will begin only after the United States fulfills the terms of the agreement. Trump also threatened to destroy Iran this week. However, he later said that the US representatives had a good conversation with Iran in New York.
