Kathmandu. According to the Meteorological Department, there is currently a partial influence of monsoon winds as well as westerly winds across the country. Also, a strong low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is around North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha in India.
This system is likely to move north-west while maintaining the intensity of the strong low pressure area at the beginning, then it is likely to gradually weaken in the next 24 hours while moving north-northwest, the division said. Today, most of the Himalayan areas of Kosi, Wagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali Provinces and some places in the Himalayan areas of Far West Province are likely to experience moderate to moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning.
There will be moderate rain with thunder and lightning in most places of hilly and terai areas of Kosi, Wagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini region, hilly areas of Karnali region and some places of Madhes region and some places of hilly and terai region of Far West region.
Few places of Kosi, Wagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali regions may receive heavy to very heavy rain.
