Main News Image

Kathmandu. The 1501st birth anniversary of the last prophet of Islam, Hazrat Mohammad Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam, is being celebrated today by organizing various programs. Muhammad is considered as the prophet of the Muslim community. Prophet Muhammad was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Later he went to Medina in Saudi Arabia. 53 years after his birth, the Islamic calendar began on 9 Hijri. Now Hijri Samvat 1448 is running.

Mecca, which has been a holy place since the creation of the world, used to be a place of pilgrimage for all religions. The Muslim community believes that the Quran was revealed here while Muhammad was preaching. After the Qur'an was revealed, there were fewer followers of other religions. And it started to be considered as the main pilgrimage site of Islam. Earlier, Jerusalem was considered the main pilgrimage site of Islam. This is why Muslims want to go to Mecca and Medina and perform Hajj once in their life.

His sermons are remembered as important contributions to Islam. On this occasion, a rally, assembly and other programs are being held today. Special programs have been organized today at Nepali Jame Masjid, Kashmiri Jame Masjid and other places.
