Kathmandu. An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday has decided to approve a loan worth 85 million US dollars to be allocated from the World Bank for the Greater Lumbini Area Development Project. While announcing the decision of the meeting, Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Pratibha Rao also announced other decisions.

The meeting decided to transfer the Water Resources and Energy Research Center from Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 3 Pulchok to Godavari Municipality 3, to accept the resignation of the chairman and members of the problematic government management committee under the Ministry of Land Management and Cooperative Poverty Alleviation, and to approve the acquisition of private land of Nagadhunga tunnel and Pasang Lhamu highway under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Under the Ministry of Forest and Environment, permission has been granted to use 46.39 hectares of national forest area for the construction of the Kathmandu-Madhesh Expressway and it has been approved to remove 1,898 poles in that area.
