Kathmandu. The Cabinet has approved Nepal Rashtra Bank to issue new design coins of Rs 1 and Rs 2. Along with this, the discussion of removing the Chuche map from the new coins has spread in social networks and various media.

According to Rashtra Bank, there is a legal provision that requires government approval for coins with design changes. However, the National Bank has not officially confirmed the new design as the full details of the Cabinet's decision have not been received.

According to sources, a picture of the historic Lo Ghyakar 9 Ghar0 monastery in Mustang has been prepared to replace the Chuchche map of Nepal on the front of the new coin. It is being discussed that the current map will be automatically replaced. Debate and criticism continues on social media regarding this issue, but the government or the National Bank has not yet released a formal explanation about the new design.
