Kathmandu. Amidst fears that Himtal in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts may explode and flood the Bhotekoshi River, the Department of Water and Meteorology has made it clear that there is no possibility of such a major flood immediately. Due to the spread of news and rumors on various media and social networks, the Mahashakhar Kendra under the Department of Water and Meteorology issued a notice on Friday night and appealed to the general public to remain calm.
According to the department, the Nepali authorities are in constant direct contact with the Chinese counterpart agencies and are monitoring the water (climate) information received. Based on the official data and technical analysis received so far, there is no possibility of an immediate flood in the river due to the explosion of the snow lake.
