The writ against cancellation of Resham's candidature was 'not sent to see'
Kathmandu. The petition against the cancellation of the candidature of Resham Choudhary, the guardian of Civil Liberation Party Nowa Nepal, has not been sent to the Supreme Court for consideration.
Choudhary had submitted his candidacy for the House of Representatives election from Kailali 1 on January 6. However, despite being convicted in the Tikapur incident and pardoned by the President, the election officer's office rejected his candidacy after receiving a complaint on the grounds that he could not be a candidate.
Opposing this decision, Chaudhary approached the Supreme Court on January 10 and sought an interim order to stop the decision to cancel the candidature. The Supreme Court issued a show cause order on this issue and called both sides for discussion. The hearing was adjourned for today due to the non-response in the hearing on January 15.
