Kathmandu. The way for parliamentarians to appoint personal secretaries has been opened. The government has decided to provide the facility of private secretary to the MPs and published the notification in the Nepal Gazette.

Earlier, the cabinet meeting held on 5 October 2082 had decided to cut unproductive expenses and maintain austerity. Based on the same decision, the government of the time amended the Schedule of the Act, 2073 on Remuneration and Benefits of the Officials and Members of the Federal Parliament and revoked the private secretary benefits that the parliamentarians were getting.
