Kathmandu. The press council, which was interrupted after the protest started by the employees regarding the provision of expensive allowances, has resumed after the demands of the service employees of Nepal have been addressed.

According to the regulations of Nepal Government, the special allowance under the mandatory obligation that the permanent employees are receiving is Expensive Allowance V.No. The employees had stopped the daily work of the Council Secretariat from June 18, saying that it was not available since the month of January 2082. During this, the employees staged a sit-in at the office premises and demanded that the allowance be provided immediately as decided by the government.

After the demands of the employees have been addressed, the Press Council Nepal has informed that all the services of the Council have resumed from the afternoon of June 19. The agitating employees have informed that the interrupted service will now operate regularly as the demand has been addressed.

Earlier, the employees had said that the financial burden had increased due to the suspension of expensive allowances for a long time, and they were forced to strike after the problem was not resolved despite repeatedly drawing the attention of the relevant authorities.
