The price of gas has dropped in Kathmandu, now at Rs 2,600 per cylinder
Kathmandu. Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has requested the gas industry and sellers not to take the price of gas in Kathmandu valley more than 2000 rupees per cylinder. Through the notice issued by the association on Thursday, the corporation has requested to sell and distribute gas at the price of Rs.
Earlier, there was a problem in gas supply in Kathmandu Valley after some sections of the Prithvi Highway were eroded and the road was blocked due to severe floods in the Trishuli River in the Krishnabhir region on August 14th. After that, the industries marketing gas in the valley were bringing gas to Kathmandu by filling cylinders in industries located in Makwanpur, Parsa, Bara, Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Dhanusha.
After the road was blocked, the union issued a press release on August 18 and requested to sell gas at a maximum price of 2,165 rupees 38 paise, adding 150 rupees 38 paise, which is charged for transporting gas through alternative routes at 2,600 rupees per cylinder set by the corporation.
