The price of eggs increased again
Chitwan. The consumption of eggs has increased as it gets colder. On top of that, after the tightening in the Indian border area, illegal eggs have been stopped. Farmers say that because of this, Nepali eggs have started fetching good prices. Along with this, a new price has been implemented to increase the cost of Nepalese eggs from Saturday. Chairman Vinod Pokharel informed that the meeting of Nepal Layers Poultry Breeders Association has decided the minimum support price to be implemented from Saturday while discussing the production and marketing of Nepalese eggs.
According to the price list issued on the basis of farmer's farm cost, its price has increased significantly. According to the new rate, extra large 9x L0 eggs per crate is 930 eggs, 560 large eggs, 545 medium eggs and 3,250 rupees per carton of small eggs.
According to Chairman Pokharel, the price has increased by 40 rupees per crate compared to the previous price. He said that due to the election in India, due to the tightening of the border, eggs there became more expensive and after the illegal entry route to Nepal was closed, Nepali eggs got a fair price. According to him, the consumption of eggs naturally increases in the winter months. According to Pokharel, the demand has also increased due to the increased public awareness that eggs should be eaten in the cold. Even last July, the price of eggs reached 560 rupees and then gradually decreased. According to the association, the price of eggs is gradually increasing and the farmers can bear the cost.
