Jhapa. Two thousand 622 new voters have been added in the district. Those voters will be able to use their votes for the first time in the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21. According to Prem Prakash Neupane, Information Officer of the District Election Office, the number of voters has reached 682 thousand 993 including the voters added to the district. Earlier there were 680 thousand 371 voters in Jhapa.
After the interim government decided to update the new voters by amending the election law through an ordinance, the process of registering the names of the citizens who have reached the age of majority in the voter list is in full swing. "The process of registering names in the voter's list is going on," Information Officer Neupane said, "Up to 300 people have come to register their names in the voter's list in one day. It has been found that the eagerness of the new generation to participate in the election has increased."
The number of voters added up to October 2 has reached two thousand 622. According to the election office, the deadline for new voters to register their names is 30th October.
