Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to ban the use of drones as it can challenge the security system. Spokesperson and joint secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Anand Kafle, informed that the Central Security Committee has already decided to ban the use of drones in the House of Representatives elections to be held in February.

He also informed that since the misuse of social media is increasing now, the state-of-the-art unit launched by the Nepal Police will be made more effective to prevent it. He said that the team is also working to monitor the people who give false misleading information and hate speech in violation of the election code of conduct.

Stating that the security system is closely monitoring those who do anti-election activities to bring them under the legal ambit, Spokesman Kafle said that preparations are being made to make proper arrangements by identifying polling places where there is no communication link, as well as the insurance of the election police.
