The iron fence was removed from inside the Pashupatinath original temple
Kathmandu. The World Heritage Listed Pashupatinath Temple has had its iron fence removed since about a decade ago. Subhash Chandra Joshi, Acting Member Secretary of Pashupati Area Development Fund informed that the iron fence was removed during the arrangement of Pashupatinath. Many devotees have welcomed the removal of the iron fence by the Kosh.
Culturalist Hariprasad Sodari is one of them. He said that the removal of the iron railing inside the Pashupatinath original temple is positive. Culture expert Sodari says that efforts will be made to remove the evils such as lights not being lit inside the temple, flowers taken by devotees and prasad not being offered. After placing such materials in the World Heritage Area, the Department of Archeology had written to remove it saying that the identity of the World Heritage Area may be lost. Sandeep Khanal, chief archeological officer of the department, said that soon after the correspondence, the fund removed the fence.
