The government should be serious about creating an environment for elections: Prachanda

Kathmandu. CPN Maoist Center Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is of the opinion that elections should be held. He said that the government should be serious about creating an environment for elections. Speaking to media persons at Janakpur Airport on Wednesday morning, coordinator Prachanda said that since the government held talks with the parliamentary parties yesterday, there is a feeling that the government is slowly getting serious towards the election. But he still felt that the atmosphere of the election had not been created.

Coordinator Prachanda said that since the interim government should hold elections in exceptional circumstances, the CPN-Maoist Party first decided to hold a central committee meeting and go for elections.

He said that the party that publicly appealed after the Genji movement was only a Maoist center. He also informed that the CPN Maoist Center was the first party to come to Madhesh outside the capital and organize activities openly.

Coordinator Prachanda informed that a new situation can be seen after the Chhath festival as the parties in the Samajwadi Front have moved forward in the unity process.
