The government is issuing 10 billion 9-year 'Development Bond 2091'
Kathmandu. The government is going to issue development bonds worth 10 billion rupees. The Public Debt Management Office under the Ministry of Finance is going to sell 9-year bonds named 'Development Bond 2091'.
The office issued a notice on Tuesday and said that negotiations will be open for the purchase of the bonds on Wednesday, January 14th. According to the information, the issue date of this bond has been fixed on Thursday 15th January 2082 and the principal payment will be on 15th January 2091. The interest rate on the bond will be determined through negotiation. The office has clarified that the interest payment of the bond will be done semi-annually and income tax will be charged on it as per the rules.
Banks and financial institutions, other individuals, firms, organizations or companies can apply for the purchase of this bond. Of the total issued amount, 85 percent i.e. Rs 850 crore has been earmarked for competitive bidders and the remaining 15 percent i.e Rs 150 crore for non-competitive bidders.
