The epicenter of the earthquake was around Sankhuwasabha's Ritak

Kathmandu. The earthquake was centered around Sankhuwasabha Ritak. According to the National Earthquake Measurement and Research Center Lainchour, an earthquake measuring 4.194.10 on the Richter scale occurred today at 7:31 am with its epicenter near Ritak in Bhotkhola rural municipality of Sankhuwasabha. There is no information about the extent of the earthquake's impact.

Earlier, on January 28 last year, an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 took place near Bansar in Lamjung district. As Nepal is a Himalayan region, earthquakes happen at different times.
