The Election Commission has started the compilation of Proportional Closed List
Kathmandu. The process of collecting the closed list of political parties towards the proportional election system for the House of Representatives election 2082 is starting from today. The Election Commission said that all technical and administrative preparations have been completed according to the schedule. According to the commission, only the political parties registered today, Sunday and tomorrow, Monday, will be allowed to submit the closed list of candidates for proportional representation to the commission. Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai clarified that the entire process from the submission of the closed list to the final publication will be completed within the deadline.
The closed list submitted will be scrutinized from January 15 to 20. According to the commission, during the investigation, whether the inclusion criteria are met (or not), the candidate's qualifications and the structure of the list will be checked.
After the investigation, the parties will be given an opportunity to correct the error from December 21 to 27. After that, from January 28th to January 3rd, the preliminary closing list will be published on January 4th after re-examination. Finally, there is a schedule of the commission to publish the final closed list on the proportional side on January 20.
100 political parties have registered to participate in this election through proportional system. Those parties will compete using 93 election symbols. The commission said that only the registered parties can submit the closed list.
