The draft of the law to allow Nepalis living abroad to vote is ready: Home Minister

Kathmandu. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal has said that a draft law has been prepared that includes provision for Nepali citizens living abroad to vote. Speaking at Thursday's meeting of the Federalization and National Concerns Committee, Minister Aryal clarified that the draft was prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs and sent to the Election Commission and sent to the Ministry of Law after including the comments of the Ministry of Law.
According to him, there is a need for further discussion with various stakeholders on giving voting rights to Nepalis living abroad. He said that a conclusion will be reached after discussing with time. Minister Aryal said, "There are two types of demand, Nepalis who are outside the country and those who are outside the constituency. We are trying to make both of them possible."
He expressed confidence that a concrete decision will be made at the right time, saying that we should proceed according to the advice of experts on the technical side. On the questions raised by the parliamentarians about infiltration or involvement with other interests in the movement, he commented that the commission itself should answer the matter.
