Kathmandu. The 15th Congress of Nepali Congress will be held in Kathmandu from 26th of January. It was decided to be held in Kathmandu from 26th to 28th, spokesperson Dr. Prakasharan Mahat has informed. He said that there is no need for a special convention. There was no need for a special convention after the 15th convention. The main thing had to happen during the session,'' he said.
In the central committee meeting held on Monday, an agreement was reached to hold the convention on the schedule presented by acting chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka.
According to the schedule, it is mentioned that the distribution of new active members will be done within December 20. The central committee meeting was repeatedly postponed due to the failure to reach an agreement on the date of the convention. In order to address the sentiments of the leaders in favor of a special convention, it was agreed to hold a convention in December.
The term of the current working committee was till the end of November. There is a provision that the Congress Central Committee can extend the term of the Working Committee by a majority for up to one year. However, the central committee decided to extend the convention by two months and decided to hold the convention in January.
