Kathmandu. The Nepal Almanac Judging Development Committee has decided to prepare the upcoming 2083 Almanac according to the methodology and format of 2082.  The joint meeting of almanacs has taken this decision saying that due to various technical reasons there has been a delay in establishing and discussing the almanac.

According to the executive director of the committee, Acharya Laxman Panthi, it takes more time to prepare the panchang section from Ketki planetary system and detailed discussion is needed, so the old method has been continued keeping in mind the problems that may be faced by the users due to delay in publication.

Earlier, a notification was issued to submit the panchang 2083 calendar based on planetary calculations and submit it to the committee, but due to the pressure of time, it has been decided to remain based on the traditional solar method. In Panchang published for the nation of Nepal last year, Panchang section was based on solar system while other planets were calculated based on Jyotirganitam and Ketaki Grahaganitam.

Chairman of the Committee Prof. Shambhu Prasad Dhakal informed that the discussion will be carried out immediately by inviting renowned astrologers of national and international level to revise the solar treatment system in time to match the actual planetary position of the sky. This decision has ensured that the next year's calendar will come to the market on time and has also opened the way for academic debate for long-term almanac reform.
