Strong possibility of Sudhan Gurung becoming home minister again, 'clean chit' to Sudhan Gurung from inquiry committee
Kathmandu. Sudhan Gurung, the outgoing Home Minister and National Independent Party RSVP MP, who resigned after being accused of illegal financial investments, has a strong possibility of returning to the palace. According to sources, a three-member inquiry committee formed under the coordination of former high court judge Achyuta Prasad Bhandari has given him a 'clean chit'.
With the investigation committee clearing him, the way for Gurung to return to the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs is open. Gurung had resigned on May 9 after being accused of illegal partnership with businessman Deepak Bhatt and hiding the shares of a small insurance company in the asset statement. After his resignation, the government formed an inquiry committee on May 28.
