Strictness in issuing IPO, if the net worth is less than 100 rupees, permission will not be given
Kathmandu. Nepal Securities Board Sebon has prepared to make the criteria for initial public issue IPO approval more stringent. The Board, while publishing the draft of the General Eligibility Guidelines for Public Offerings, 2083, proposed not to allow IPO issuance to companies with a net worth less than the nominal value per share.
According to the proposed system, companies with a net worth per share of less than Rs 100 will be ineligible for IPO. Earlier, based on the directives of the Public Accounts Committee under the previous House of Representatives, companies with a net worth of less than 90 rupees per share were not allowed to IPO. Now it has been proposed that the net worth should be maintained at the same level as the nominal value by making it more strict.
