SSB disruption in Susta after PM's controversial statement
Nawalparasi Prime Minister Walendra Shah's statement on the Nepal-India border dispute is heating up the political circle, but its direct 'side effect' has been seen in the border area. Immediately after the speech of the Prime Minister, the Indian Armed Forces SSB entered the Nepali land at Susta in Nawalparasi and stopped the work of the embankment under construction.
When 80 percent of the embankment being built on the banks of the Narayani River at a cost of 140 million rupees by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation was completed, armed Indian security personnel created a barrier.
According to Teknarayan Upadhyay, Chairman of Susta Rural Municipality, Indian security personnel came in the number of 40-50 people on Sunday evening and warned them to stop the work. Local people's representatives and activists of the 'Susta Bachau Abhiyan' have considered this as a result of the Prime Minister's short-sighted expression.
