Main News Image

Kathmandu. Nepal Communist Party UML vice president and former finance minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has been ordered by the special court to keep the case on a regular date. The joint bench of judges Narayan Prasad Poudel, Dilliratna Shrestha and Vidur Koirala of the special court in the crime of money laundering issued such an order on Friday.

Only on Thursday, the Money Laundering Investigation Department, after a long investigation, filed a case against Paudel in court, maintaining a fine of Rs 209 million.  As soon as the case was registered, Paudel's statement was brought to the court and after the custody debate, the bench decided to release him on a simple date, seeing that there is no need to keep him on bail or imprisonment.
