Kathmandu. With the motto of 'Our Common Campaign: Respect and Respect for Senior Citizens', various programs are being organized today to celebrate Senior Citizen Day. This day is to be celebrated by organizing various programs to promote respect, protection and participation while protecting the rights, interests and rights of senior citizens.
This day is celebrated every year in Nepal commemorating the day when Social Security Allowance was started on 11th January 2051. This day reminds us of our collective obligation, responsibility, duty, respect and reverence towards senior citizens. Their sacrifice, service and contribution in the long journey of life is a priceless asset of our society.
The Constitution of Nepal and the Senior Citizens Act, 2063 have ensured the right of senior citizens to special protection and social security. The Constitution has guaranteed the right to health care, dignified life and support, which provides a strong foundation for their dignified life.
