Riders of Pathao and Indrive must take mandatory PAN
Kathmandu. The government has brought ride-sharing services such as Pathao and InDrive under the ambit of taxation and implemented a new legal arrangement related to Value Added Tax VAT.
The Internal Revenue Department has issued a public notice and according to the amendment made through the Economic Act, 2083, the riders who join such platforms and provide services have to pay tax at the rate of 5 percent.
According to this new arrangement, now the ride-sharing platforms will have to collect value added tax at the rate of 5 percent during the transaction from the riders who provide transport and transportation services through their app.
