Rescue of 883 people including 350 people trapped in Upper Trishuli Hydropower tunnel by Nepali Army

Kathmandu. After the devastating flood in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa district, the news that people were trapped inside the tunnel of Upper Trishuli Hydropower since yesterday had raised concern all around. However, facing a very risky and challenging situation between adverse weather and rapid flow of flood, the team of Nepali Army has successfully rescued 350 laborers and locals who were trapped in the tunnel some time ago.

The army is still working to evacuate more than 100 people trapped in the same tunnel. A military team of 1.3 under the command of Jamdar Bhaktajan Basnet from No. 1 Second Movement Tactical Headquarters Trishuli has been deployed round the clock for the complex and risky rescue operation inside the tunnel.
